About the Artist

At the age of four, Eleanor was dancing on her bed listening to one of her first vinyl records, Shakedown Street by the Grateful Dead. Eleanor Josephine is a lifelong artist who began her formal training in Houston at the Glassell School of Art before relocating to the Pacific Northwest. At The Evergreen State College, she earned a BA focused on Experimental Photography Techniques, a study that sparked her enduring fascination with artistic chemistry and the vibrancy of color. This creative background is enriched by her history as a competitive Ballroom Dancer—placing 3rd in the nation at age 17—and her honors in technical theater, which cultivated her deep appreciation for textiles, experimental processes and design, and the magic of presentation.
Now at Long Strange Drips, Eleanor channels this diverse expertise into crafting intentional accoutrement with meticulous care. Her practice remains soulful and professional, prioritizing the energetic integrity of every piece she creates. Aside from print-on-demand apparel, the shop features strictly small-batch, limited-edition, or one-of-a-kind originals designed to serve as meaningful talismans for your personal journey. Each item is handcrafted to ensure it carries a unique resonance from her workspace to your home.
